Author’s Note: This is just my perception. Others might disagree. Also just a Short idea of mine so it’s nothing big really :)

• okay, I want to say ‘buckle up’ but I guess it’s going to be quite smooth sailing ~
• He seems so stern
• So focused and serious and always about earning money
• So far so good
• You probably know that he used to be a salary man. Working for a corporate bank, making money for those who already have a lot of it
• But he got tired
• Having no actual goal in life besides wanting to earn an adequate salary
• So that he’s able to settle down somewhere cheap and abroad to live a comfortable and quiet life
• Eventually something made him go back to becoming a sorcerer
• And now … well now he is stuck with Gojo and Yuuji and all those awesome (tiring) people
• now let’s get to the core
• Nanami is actually such a soft man
• He cares a lot
• Not about everyone - only about a fine selection of people. But when you’re one of those people he will watch out for you
• He will do the favors and make sure you’re okay
• The more stern he is at work, the softer he is at home
• Still very serious about very cultured things like wine or food, what book to read or wether to take the shoes off inside his apartment or not
• He probably enjoys things like wine tastings, intellectual conversations maybe? So his personal friends might differ a lot from his colleagues/ work friends
• But if his s/o does a few mistakes he won’t talk down on them like he does it with Gojo
• He will probably just sigh or roll his eyes at you
• Because he is certain you care enough about him to respect his rules and rituals, value what he values

-> His Ideal Type

• For me personally Nanami Kento’s idea type has to be someone with two sides
• Some one who can crack him up and get under that thick skin of his, break down his oh so high walls and reach the man inside the beige suit
• But on another hand they also have to be pretty all-terrain kind of a person
• Just imagine him taking them to a gallery or a wine tasting or something else high-class
• His s/o has to have the manners ™️
• Elegant people who know how to behave and to act
• When to talk and when to remain silent
• Someone who makes perfect arm candy without attracting too much attention
• Someone whose looks don’t compete with his but also aren’t in no way inferior
• I am not talking about facial appearance or anything but clothes, style and overall appearance
• Someone with good posture
• Someone that knows where to put their hands (which on a side note, most people don’t)
• Who gets along well with his personal friends and has a few topics to talk about that are fit for society or parties

• but let’s get to that other side I mentioned earlier
• The humorous side
• Who cracks him up and is the cause of those very handsome crow feet and laughter lines
• It’s a mystery to everyone how they can have the same sense of humor but for them it’s just effortless
• Someone who noticed and cares a lot about small loving details with which Nanami expresses his affection early on in a relationship and knows how to return them
• he is not a man of the words so he mostly lets his actions speak for him
• And he lives of receiving small dosis of affection from his s/o as well
• Cute encouraging messages on the fridge or a bunch of wild flowers on the table when he gets back from work
• He gives me the vibes of a man who enjoys being taken care of in a subtle way
• When his s/o surprises him by picking him up for work and having arranged reservation at the small restaurant they both enjoyed - it would melt his heart
• he would remember how much he loves them everytime the wrap their arms around him
• highjack his clothes or holds them a lecture about his skin or hair care routine
• Just because they care so much about him
• If they are willing to learn about his interests (given that they don’t share them already) he would patiently sit down with them and answer a lot of questions, involuntarily smiling when they start to take notes

-> Conclusion

Why did I not say it has to either this or that type of s/o is because I think Nanami likes balance. He is used to being on his own. Then his world is still and quiet and pretty much all the same every day. But then he is also friends with Gojo who stores things up regularly and with whom he has been friends for such a long time that missing this noise in his life really would question his situation. Maybe he would start doing weird things on his own just to find out that it’s not his thing and perhaps eventually be sad.

So he needs someone who can keep up with his cultivated gentleman side as well as annoy just the way Gojo does, someone who keeps the balance intact.

Or rather keeps him in balance with himself. Someone who he can turn to in dark hours but also who he can protect if he feels like it.
