Muichirou's name meaning

Mist Hashira Tokitou Muichirou /時透 無一郎

To be honest, I still don't understand the meaning behind the name Tokitou. "時透" means "passing through time" but why it is "through time", I don't understand at all. Since Muichirou is a descendant of Michikatsu, I tried to combine with the surname Tsugikuni 継国 but still couldn't help it.
